International Therapy Examination Council

ITEC has established itself as providing rigorous courses with a high level of grades for passing examinations. Qualified ITEC practitioners have to know and understand their therapy subject fully with thorough knowledge plus a very high level of practical skill. During recent years ITEC qualifications have spread throughout the world as they have become the highest level qualifications for professionals.

The ITEC Examining Board sets the standards for all courses and examinations, and approves and registers private schools, colleges, universities and teaching hospitals wishing to offer ITEC qualification courses.

Establishments offering courses leading to ITEC vocational qualifications are assured that their students will have the soundest foundation for a career as a practising professional therapist. ITEC Qualifications are held by most of the leading therapy professionals practising in Britain today.

AOR

The AOR was founded in 1984. It was created by a need to regulate standards and to provide a network of qualified practitioners to which the interested parties can refer to with confidence. It is a fully independent organisation not affiliated to any particular training school and is managed by a council whose positions are honorary.

The aims of the Association are to maintain a high standard of practice among its members and to promote the therapy of Reflexology. The AOR has an ongoing educational programme for its members with talks and discussions held with not only Reflexology speakers, but with speakers from other fields of complementary medicine. It also produces a quarterly magazine which keeps members informed of new developments and provides a platform for their own news and views.

The AOR operates its own insurance scheme for practitioners.

CIBTAC

IFA

The IFA was founded in 1985 and was the first Association in the UK to represent, co-ordinate and encourage the practice of Aromatherapy. It is a Registered Charity which is supported by it's membership and has many links on the International Aromatherapy platform. The Federation has been greatly instrumental in attracting the attention of both the medical profession and the public to the therapeutic benefits of Aromatherapy.

Since 1987, the IFA has operated a procedure to ascertain that all IFA registered courses are teaching to a suitable high-level of Aromatherapy.

NVQ

National Vocational Qualifications are accepted as an identification of competency which will fit you for your first employment in the Health and Beauty industry.  Throughout your course you are constantly evaluated on practical and theoretical knowledge. Achievement of these standards will indicate to your employer that you are equipped with sound basics to which further skill development can be added.
