The Diploma: |
An all inclusive qualification covering all aspects of Facial Work, Facial Electrical Treatments, Make-up, Manicure/Pedicure, and Waxing. A top level course for those who want to become Beauty Specialists. The Diploma is taught over 750 hours and it covers four main areas: |
Anatomy and Physiology of the Whole Body: |
An understanding of the basic functions of the principle systems of the body i.e. Digestive, Genito-urinary, Endocrine, Muscular, Neurological, Respiratory, Skeletal, and Vascular. |
A & P of the Face and Neck: |
Cells and tissues, Osteology, Miology, Neurology, Angiology, Lymphatic system. |
Anatomy of Breasts: |
Structure and Function, Treatment in Beauty Salon-Massage/Creams/Masks, Advice and Exercise, Electrical Treatments, Changes due to Ageing/Pregnancy/Hormonal, Plastic Surgery Advice to clients. |
Skin: |
Study and Functions, Primary and Secondary skin lesions, Skin Diseases and Disorders - to include: Viral, Bacterial, Fungal, Parasitic, and Congenital, Acne Vulgaris, Acne Rosacea, Pigmentary Disorders, Disorders of Eyes and Eyelids, Importance of Emotional Factors. Examination of the Skin, Skin Allergies, Cleansing and Toning, Massage for the Face and Neck, Make-up, Waxing, Manicure and Pedicure, Cosmetic Chemistry, Facial Steamers, High Frequency Current Galvanism, Faradism, Vacuum Suction. |
There is a 3 hour written theory exam and a practical examination of 2 and a half hours. Other examinations are an Oral and a topic of 3000 words. The ITEC qualification will count towards the ITEC Holistic Clinical Honours and ITEC Complementary Therapies Diploma.
